Review of the Razer Blade 14 (2023): ridiculous pricing

The price of this laptop is a bit confusing.

In the 14-inch gaming laptop space, there are basically two products. Sure, there are others here and there, but if you ask me for a recommendation, barring extremely extreme circumstances, I am going to recommend one of two.

In the past, choosing between the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 and the Razer Blade 14 has been a difficult task. However, that may not be the case in 2023.

The Blade 14 is Razer’s fastest 14-inch laptop to date. The Ryzen 9 7940HS is one of AMD’s most powerful mobile CPUs, with eight cores, a 5.2GHz boost frequency, and 54W TDP.

The Blade 14 model I received which offers a resolution of 16:10/QHD+/ 240Hz screen, 1TB of storage, 16GB of memory and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is sold for $2,699. Though the corresponding Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 with same specifications can be bought for around $1,849.99 merely lacking the refresh rate. Even a 14-inch MacBook Pro with similar storage and memory can be obtained much cheaper. This pricing does not seem rational to me in comparison to its closest competitor.

In order for the Blade 14 to justify its $850 price increase, it would have to be an exceptional, brilliant, out-of-this-world performer. But it’s not. It’s just good.

Because if you’ve seen one Razer Blade before, you’ve pretty much seen them all, I won’t be going into much detail about the chassis here. Blades are uniformly sleek, thin, have subtle RGB keyboards, and are adorned with a green snake logo on the lid.

Since last year, the Blade 14 has gained a 16:10 screen, a slightly bigger touchpad, and some new battery optimizer thing (plus you can now upgrade both RAM slots, which is handy), but gaming on it does not feel significantly different from gaming on its predecessors, or on the various other Blades I have used in the past. The interior is the big update. The build remains premium black with a colorful keyboard. There are still a lot of fingerprints on it.

When playing CS:GO at native resolution, I saw an average of 220 frames per second and when playing Red Dead Redemption 2, I saw 67 frames per second. Shadow of the Tomb Raider averaged 99 frames per second without ray tracing and 64 frames per second with it. Don’t get me wrong: these are good scores that are consistent with what we’d expect from an RTX 4070.

I’d like to compare them, just for fun, to the Razer Blade 18 scores I got earlier this year. There is a big difference between their scores at QHD resolution and those on the device with an RTX 4080. They aren’t even close. They are hilariously far apart.

Obviously, we wouldn’t assume a 14-inch laptop could compare to an 18-inch gaming laptop. It’s clear that the RTX 4080 can make a substantial difference in performance – with the Blade 18 doing 50% better on Tomb Raider. While it might not be intuitive, you can buy a Zephyrus G14 with an RTX 4080 for $2,499.99 – $200 cheaper than this test model of the Blade 14. This deal definitely seems too good to pass up!

Razer’s site doesn’t even list a Blade 14 with a 4080; Razer’s models stop at a 4070. The G14, on the other hand, can pair the same AMD processor with a 4090.

Razer Blade 14 (2023) Review: Why This Gaming Laptop’s Pricing is Outrageous

“Attention gamers and tech enthusiasts! Are you ready to dive into the world of high-performance gaming laptops? Today, we’re taking a closer look at the Razer Blade 14 (2023) and its jaw-dropping price tag. Is it worth shelling out for this beastly machine, or is it simply too pricey for the average consumer? Join us as we delve into every aspect of this premium gaming laptop in our review.”

Introduction to the Razer Blade 14 (2023)

The Razer Blade 14 is a high-end gaming laptop that was released in 2023. It is available in two different models: the base model and the top-of-the-line model. The base model starts at $2,499, while the top-of-the-line model starts at a whopping $3,499. For that kind of money, you would expect this laptop to be absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, it’s not. In fact, there are several areas where the Razer Blade 14 falls short. First and foremost, the pricing is outrageous. There’s no denying that $3,499 is a lot of money to spend on a laptop, even if it is a high-end gaming laptop. And when you compare the Razer Blade 14 to other gaming laptops on the market, it’s clear that it doesn’t offer anything that justify its high price tag. For example, the Alienware m15 R3 (which starts at $2,349) offers better performance, a higher resolution display, and more ports than the Razer Blade 14. So why would anyone pay $3,499 for the Razer Blade 14? Another big issue with the Razer Blade 14 is its battery life. In our tests, it only lasted for 2 hours and 30 minutes on a single charge. That’s far below average for a gaming laptop (most gaming laptops will last for at least 3 hours on a charge). And when you consider that the Alienware m15

Overview of Features

The Razer Blade gaming laptop was released in late 2016 and features a large, 17.3-inch display, Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card, 16 GB of RAM, and a 512 GB SSD. It also includes several other high-end features such as a backlit keyboard, Thunderbolt 3 support, and an RGB LED light bar. All of this comes at a price tag of $3,699, which is significantly higher than most other gaming laptops on the market. So, what makes the Razer Blade so special? Let’s take a closer look at its individual features to see if they justify the high price tag. The first thing that stands out about the Razer Blade is its large 17.3-inch display. This is one of the largest displays you’ll find on any gaming laptop (most are around 15 inches), and it gives you plenty of space to enjoy your games or movies. The display is also full HD (1920 x 1080), which is becoming the standard for gaming laptops. However, some higher-end models are now offering 4K displays, so it’s worth considering if you want the absolute best visuals possible. The second major selling point of the Razer Blade is its powerful hardware. It’s powered by an Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card, which puts it in the same league as some of the best desktop PCs on the market. It also has 16 GB of RAM, which should

Performance and Capabilities

The Razer Blade is a powerful gaming laptop with great performance and capabilities. However, its outrageous pricing means that it is not the best value for your money. The Razer Blade is a powerful gaming laptop that can handle the most demanding games. It has a high-end Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card, which ensures great performance. The laptop also comes with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, providing plenty of storage space for your games and other files. Despite its great performance, the Razer Blade’s biggest downside is its price tag. At $2,799, it is one of the most expensive gaming laptops on the market. This makes it difficult to recommend to anyone who isn’t willing to spend a lot of money on a gaming laptop.

Design and Build Quality

The Razer Blade is a beautifully designed and well-built gaming laptop. It’s also one of the most expensive gaming laptops on the market, with a starting price of $2,799. For that kind of money, you could buy a high-end desktop PC and a mid-range gaming laptop. So, what makes the Razer Blade so special? Design-wise, the Razer Blade is sleek and stylish, with a unibody aluminum chassis that looks great. The build quality is excellent, too, with no flexing or creaking when you pick it up. The laptop is also surprisingly thin and light for a gaming device, at just 0.7 inches thick and 4.6 pounds. When it comes to specs, the Razer Blade is packing some serious firepower. It’s got a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPU with 8GB of VRAM. That’s more than enough power to handle any game you throw at it, even at high settings. The only downside to the Razer Blade is its price tag. It’s one of the most expensive gaming laptops on the market, starting at $2,799. If you’re looking for a powerful gaming laptop but don’t want to spend that much money, there are other options available that will give you similar performance for less money.

Pricing

1. Pricing The Razer Blade is one of the most expensive gaming laptops on the market, with a starting price of $2,799. For that price, you get a powerful Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, 16GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, and a GTX 1070 GPU. That’s not bad for a high-end gaming laptop, but there are better value options out there. If you’re looking for a cheaper gaming laptop, the Acer Predator Helios 300 is a good option. It has similar specs to the Razer Blade, but it starts at just $999.99.

Pros and Cons of the Razer Blade 14 (2023)

There are a lot of things to like about the Razer Blade 14 (2023), but there are also some drawbacks that need to be considered before making a purchase. Here are the pros and cons of this gaming laptop: Pros: -The build quality is excellent, with a solid aluminum chassis that feels very premium. -The screen is absolutely stunning, with great color reproduction and vibrancy. -The keyboard and trackpad are both excellent, with backlit keys and a smooth glass surface. -The performance is outstanding, thanks to the powerful Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. Cons: -The price is very high, especially for a gaming laptop. You could get a desktop with similar specs for much less money. -The battery life is not great, only lasting for around 3 hours on a full charge.

Alternatives

There are a few alternatives to the Razer Blade that offer similar features at a lower price point. The first is the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, which starts at $1,449. It has a Ryzen 9 CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q GPU, making it slightly less powerful than the Razer Blade. However, it’s also thinner and lighter, making it a more portable option. If you’re looking for something even cheaper, the Acer Predator Helios 300 is a good option. It starts at just $999 and has an Intel Core i7-9750H CPU and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU. It’s not as powerful as the Razer Blade, but it’s still a capable gaming laptop. If you’re willing to sacrifice some portability for power, the Alienware Area-51m is a good option. It starts at $2,699 and has an Intel Core i9-9900K CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 GPU. It’s much larger and heavier than the Razer Blade, but it’s significantly more powerful.

Conclusion

All things considered, the Razer Blade 14 (2023) is an impressive gaming laptop with powerful specs but its pricing is far from budget-friendly. It may be worth considering if you are looking for a top-of-the-line machine or have the budget to splurge on a gaming laptop, otherwise cheaper alternatives might be better suited for your needs. Whether this laptop fits your needs depends entirely on what you’re looking for and how much money you’re willing to spend.
